- Great family movies. I love watching movies with my family. Some really good movies we have seen are: Time Changer, Facing The Giants, Flywheel, Courageous, Creation Adventures-6 short days-1 big adventure! Creatures of Creation and others. :)
- The time I can spend with my family. It is important to spend time with your family so you can encourage each other in the Lord, pray for each other, and draw closer together as a family.
- Joy. When I think of joy, it makes me think of the acronym:
O-Others second.
Y-Yourself last.
As Christians, we should strive to always put Jesus first in everything we do. Others should be second in our life. Philippians 2:4 says "Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others." We have true JOY when we put God first in every area of our life. Non Christians can't have true joy. Oh, they have joy, but not the joy of the Lord, because they haven't accepted Him as their Saviour and believed on Him. They don't think about putting Christ first in their lives- they want to put themselves first. They are influenced by movies they watch, books they read, and friends they hang out with.
I also think of the song "Joy Unspeakable." Here are the words.
"I have found His grace is all complete,
He supplieth ev'ry need;
While I sit and learn at Jesus' feet,
I am free, yes, free indeed.
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Full of glory, full of glory,
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Oh, the half has never yet been told.
I have found the pleasure I once craved,
It is joy and peace within;
What a wondrous blessing! I am saved
From the awful gulf of sin.
I have found that hope so bright and clear,
Living in the realm of grace;
Oh, the Savior's presence is so near,
I can see His smiling face.
I have found the joy no tongue can tell,
How its waves of glory roll!
It is like a great o'erflowing well,
Springing up within my soul."
Beautiful hymn and encouragement on being joyful! I agree that family is one of the most important things to be thankful for; I'm so grateful to be near my own!
