Well, time for another post. I was trying to think about something I could write that has happened, and I thought "why don't I write about the Journey Challenge?" The Journey Challenge is a challenge that Living the Journey does every January. This January, the challenge is to memorize a verse every day of Isaiah chapter 40. Today is the fourth day, so we are memorizing Isaiah 40 verse 4. Sarah and Anna Robinson has accepted the challenge along with yours truly, and I am very excited about memorizing the whole chapter! Every day, one of the Journey Leaders posts about the verse that we are memorizing that day. You can click here to read the post for day 1, here for post 2, here for post 3, and here for today's post: 4. You can click here to read more about the challenge. So, I hope you will pray for us as we memorize this passage. Please pray that we will finish memorizing it and not give up! Believe me! It's easy to skip a verse for a day, and then the next day skip a verse. Pretty soon, you're behind on memorizing! And it takes me a very long time to memorize things! So, if you're like me, and you have a hard time memorizing things, I found something that helps me, and I hope it will help you. I find it very helpful if I say the verse over and over in my head until I go to sleep. The next morning, when I wake up, I say the verse without looking at it, and I find it is stuck in my head!! Today's memory verse is Isaiah 40:4 "Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain." So, if you're interested in joining this awesome challenge, please leave a comment below and tell me!!!! You can click here if you wish to sign up to receive the emails that one of the Journey Leaders writes every day. For a little extra motivation, Living the Journey will send a prize to anyone who completes this challenge by February 1st. The challengers have to say it to their parents, guardian or some other responsible person. Have them (your parents or guardian) email Living the Journey by February 5th to let them know you've completed the challenge! You can find their email here.
Okay, and now for some pictures from my walk last week.
Saying of the week:
Bible verse of the week: Romans 8:5-10
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Song of the week: Christ Liveth in Me.
"Once far from God and dead in sin,
No light my heart could see;
But in God's Word the light I found,
Now Christ liveth in me.
Christ liveth in me,
Christ liveth in me;
Oh! What a salvation this,
That Christ liveth in me.
As rays of light from yonder sun,
The flow'rs of earth set free,
So life and light and love come forth
From Christ living in me.
Christ liveth in me,
Christ liveth in me;
Oh! What a salvation this,
That Christ liveth in me.
As lives the flow'r within the seed,
As in the cone the tree,
So, praise the Christ of truth and grace,
His Spirit dwelleth in me.
Christ liveth in me,
Christ liveth in me;
Oh! What a salvation this,
That Christ liveth in me.
With longing all my heart is filled,
That like Him I may be,
As on the wondrous thought I dwell
That Christ liveth in me.
Christ liveth in me,
Christ liveth in me;
Oh! What a salvation this,
That Christ liveth in me.
Have a Christ-centered week everyone!
In Him alone,
Ashley
