Each Step I Take // Update

Happy Sunday to you.

Here's a beautiful song called "Each Step I Take".  The video is below in case you want to listen to it. Hope you enjoy the song.

Each step I take my Saviour goes before me,
And with His loving hand, He leads the way.
And with each breath, I whisper "I adore Thee,"
Oh, what joy to walk with Him each day.
~~
Each step I take, I know that He will guide me,
To higher ground He ever leads me on.
Until some day the last step will be taken,
Each step I take just leads me closer home.
~~
At times I feel my faith begin to waver,
When up ahead I see a chasm wide.
It's then I turn and look up to my Saviour,
I am strong when He is by my side.
~~
Each step I take, I know that He will guide me,
To higher ground He every leads me on.
Until some day the last step will be taken,
Each step I take just leads me closer home.
~~
I trust in God, no matter come what may,
For life eternal is in His hand.
He holds the key that opens up the way,
That will lead me to the promise land.
~~
Each step I take, I know that He will guide me,
To higher ground He ever leads me on.
Until some day the last step will be taken,
Each step I take just leads me closer home.
~~
Psalms 37:23-24
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

On a different note, last Sunday, a family gave us 10 chicks. A couple have eye problems, and one has a wing problem, we think. Here are a few pictures of them. (They aren't named yet.)

Then on Tuesday, Sarah and I became licensed drivers, and we love to drive.
Yesterday I drove Lauren and Deborah to a fall festival, while mommy and Sarah were on their way to the festival from shopping at the outlet mall. While trying to find a place to park, the car became stuck in mud. It was a tad bit embarrassing, but thankfully a man at the festival had a strong rope and pulled the car out of the mud with his truck.  :)  I didn't feel so bad when I found out that some one else got stuck in the mud too.  They also were rescued by the same gentleman that pulled us out with his 4x4 truck.  :)
And that's the end of my little adventure.

So long & farewell.

Love,
Ashley
Ephesians 2:1-4
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Natalie's Orange Juice~5th review

Hello friends.
I have yet another review to share with you all today, and I was thrilled to review Natalie's Juice.

Natalie's is a Christian company, and their orange juice is the best. It tastes as good as if you squeezed the oranges yourself.
On the back of the half gallon, it says "100 % Florida Oranges created naturally by God. Grown by local farmers & squeezed fresh with love by our family for your family."
There's only 1 ingredient- Pure Florida oranges. One thing I really like is that they don't take the pulp out of the juice, and they don't add any extra sugars or preservatives to it.
For this review, I received 3 coupons for any flavors of juice. (You can click here to view the list of juices that are available.) Our store only carries Orange Juice and Grapefruit Juice. (I would have liked to try some lemonade and pink lemonade though. :) I chose to redeem the coupons for 3 orange juices. :) My family LOVES Orange Juice, and Natalie's is a real treat. It has been my favorite kind of juice for a while now, ever since I first tasted it at Care Net's Walk For Life event.  (I appreciate that they work with Care Net when they host their Walk For Life.) I most definitely recommend trying their juices.
I want to give a big thank you to Liz Colburn for working with me and allowing me to review Natalie's. Keep up the good work!!

**I received coupons for free juice in exchange for an honest review.**

Have a lovely weekend walking with the Lord.
Love,
Ashley

His Grace Reaches Me

Happy Sunday, my friends.
This plant now has a beautiful flower that bloomed a couple days ago. :) I love this song, and I hope you enjoy it.

Deeper than the ocean, and wider than the sea,
Is the grace of the Saviour for sinners like me.
Sent from the Father and it thrills my soul,
Just to feel and to know that his blood makes me whole.
 ******
His grace reaches me. Yes, His grace reaches me. And 'twill last through eternity.
Now I'm under His control, and I'm happy in my soul. Just to know that His grace reaches me.

Higher than the mountains, and brighter than the sun,
It was offered at Calvary for everyone.
Greatest of treasures and it's mine today.
Though my sins were as scarlet, He has washed them away.
******
His grace reaches me. Yes, His grace reaches me. And 'twill last through eternity.
Now I'm under His control, and I'm happy in my soul. Just to know that His grace reaches me.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
Have a joyful, God-filled week.

Much love in the Lord,
Ashley

Tea Cup & Mug Exchange

When we sow bountifully and bless others
we will also reap bountifully
in this life of  friendships.
Every good and perfect gift is from above,
may we rejoice in the goodness
of the greatest Gift-Giver of all
and in the gifts of friendship
we have been given.

****
For the first time, I participated in Stephanie's annual
Tea Cup and Mug Exchange this year.
It was a great deal of fun, and I was
blessed with a new friendship with a sister in Christ.
****
Stephanie pairs the participants up, and we each send some
goodies to one person, and receive some goodies from
a different person. In the process, you make two
new friends and have the opportunity
of blessing someone with a package full of love.
****
I had the joy and pleasure of sending some lovely
gifts along with a tea cup to Abigail.
For me, it was really special to watch God work
everything out with this exchange.
****
Before I received the name of who I was sending to,
I was out shopping, and I stumbled across
an Israeli cookbook. I took it just in case
the girl I was going to send to liked to cook.

****
When I looked at my email later, I was pleasantly surprised to
find out that Abigail loves everything I do, including
dark chocolate, and she even mentioned that Israel
has a special place in her heart.

****
I'm thrilled God brought
us together using Stephanie and this lovely exchange.
Here's what I packaged for Abigail.

Salinn blessed me with these lovely things,
and I have already enjoyed the pink lemonade. (I'm saving the hot cocoa
for those cold winter days. :) Thank you Salinn

I want to give Stephanie a huge thank you for
hosting this exchange. I had the most enjoyable time, and I
look forward to doing it again in March or April.

****
If you are interested in participating in the next tea cup
and mug exchange, (I highly recommend trying it)

A Name I Highly Treasure

Good evening. I hope this post finds you happy in the Lord.  :D

                                                        A Name I Highly Treasure

I’ve learned to know a Name I highly treasure,
O how it thrills my spirit through and through!
O precious Name, beyond degree or measure,
My heart is stirred whenever I think of you!

My heart is stirred whenever I think of Jesus-
That blessed Name which sets the captives free.
The only Name through which I find salvation,
No name on earth has meant so much to me.
That Name brings gladness to a soul in sorrow,
It makes life’s shadows and its clouds depart.
Brings strength in weakness for today, tomorrow
That Name brings healing to an aching heart.

My heart is stirred whenever I think of Jesus-
That blessed Name which sets the captives free.
The only Name through which I find salvation,
No name on earth has meant so much to me.
That Name still lives and will live on forever,
While kings and kingdoms will forgotten be.
Through mist or rain, ’twill be beclouded never,
That Name shall shine, and shine eternally.
My heart is stirred whenever I think of Jesus-
That blessed Name which sets the captives free.
The only Name through which I find salvation,
No name on earth has meant so much to me.

Psalms 72:17-19
His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed. Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

In the sweet joy of the Saviour,
~Ashley

The God of History

Today's Creation Moment: The God of History

Psalm 90:4  "For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night."

The calendar year has not always started on January 1. There was a time in Christian history when the calendar began on March 25. Nevertheless, when we come to the end of one year and begin the next, most people have a time of celebration and reflection.
A calendar from the PetalumaAt a personal level, some will decide that the year just ending was better than most; for others, it was a year they would rather forget. Then at a global level, when we see and hear of unending wars and famines and new diseases spreading worldwide, some will ask, "If there is a God, where is He?" Others will turn the situation around and ask, "What kind of God permits all this to happen?"
The real problem here is that the God of this kind of thinking is far too small. This is the little man-made God who set the universe going millions of years ago and then retired to let it all evolve. No, according to Scripture, the real God is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe and everything on this Earth. He is totally in charge of every detail of history. No war or pestilence happens without His permission. But He is also the God Who loves every one of us, and these are often the methods He uses to urge His people to draw closer to Him.
Well friends, today's the last day of Creation Moment month. I hope you all truly enjoyed it. I know I did!
If you enjoyed Creation Moment month, please write thumbs up in the comments! :)  Also, I would love to hear what your favorite Creation Moment was, so please leave a comment!!!!

Have a blessed day!

Yours truly,

Calibrating the Bee Odometer

Today's Creation Moment: Calibrating the Bee Odometer

Psalm 31:3    "For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me."

When a honeybee finds a good source of food, she returns to the hive to tell fellow bees where it is. Her dance tells nest mates the direction of the source from the nest and how far away it is. Researchers have long puzzled over how the bee knows the distance she has traveled. Several theories have been proposed, but until now, none have been proven.
Honeybees on combSeveral years ago, an international research team convincingly demonstrated how bees know how far they have traveled visually. Researchers trained bees to fly through a 30 foot tube by placing food at the far side. Then they placed a checkerboard pattern inside the tube designed to make the bees think they had flown farther than they really had. Researchers found that the pattern made the bees think they had flown 31 times farther than they really had. After watching the bees that had gone through the tricky tube, researchers calculated that for every 18 degrees an image travels across the bee's eye, she will dance for one millisecond as she communicates her discovery. As one researcher put it, they have calibrated the bees' odometer.
Bees themselves are a wonder of design. The way they communicate their finds with one another are even more difficult to explain by those who accept evolution. These are all designs of the Creator Who wishes to guide us to Himself. He communicates with us through His Word that tells us of salvation through the forgiveness of sins that is found in His Son, Jesus Christ.
I can't believe there's only one more day of Creation Moment month!!!
Can you believe it's almost October? Are you excited for the Fall? Have a good and godly day!!
Much love in Christ,
Ashley

On Bended Knees

Today's Creation Moment: On Bended Knees
                                                      (For Sister in the Mid-West)

Romans 14:11   "For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."

While attending school in England, I was taught that my knee is a hinge joint – a rather simple design, much like the hinge of a door. But I now know that the knee is actually a masterpiece of design that could only have come from the hand of a supremely intelligent Designer and Creator.
Right knee seen from the right sideDr. Stuart Burgess, the aerospace engineer responsible for the solar array deployment system on the European Space Agency's earth observation satellite system, wrote a whole chapter about the human knee in his book Hallmarks of Design. He refers to the knee as a sophisticated "four-bar system" in which two bones and two ligaments work together in perfect harmony.
"When a mechanical engineer looks at the anatomy of the human leg," Burgess writes, "the four-bar mechanism in the knee joint stands out as one of the most important and impressive mechanisms." He observes that while the ball-and-socket joint is explained to students in England, the four-bar mechanism of the knee is rarely mentioned in biology textbooks. Burgess believes that teachers are reluctant to talk about it because such a sophisticated mechanism bears the hallmarks of design.
Someday every knee shall bow before the Creator of the universe … and this includes even the most obstinate evolutionists. Creation Moments is here to help you share the truth of biblical creation with unbelievers so that when they do bend their knees, they will do so not out of force but in worship.

Disposable Diapers for Robins

Today's Creation Moment: {suggested by Katie (who wanted to see animal Creation Moments)}
                                                          Disposable Diapers for Robins

Luke 9:58  "And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head."

Parents, wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to deal with dirty diapers during the early years of your child's life? And think of the money you would save! Too bad your little angel isn't more like a little robin.
Robin removing a fecal sac from its nest

Some birds, including the familiar robin, have it all figured out. You see, just seconds after a young robin has eaten, he eliminates waste into what can best be described as a white disposable diaper. All the parents have to do is pick it up and fly off with it, leaving the nest neat and clean.

This disposable diaper is called the fecal sac. It is made of thick, strong mucus that the parent can pick up and dispose of without puncturing it with its sharp beak. Robins will usually drop the sac twenty to fifty yards away before returning to the nest with another meal for its chicks. Once the young robin has matured enough to leave its nest, it no longer produces the fecal sac. Instead, its droppings are disposed of most often on your car's windshield.
Now, just imagine what a robin's nest would look like if their Creator hadn't come up with this ingenious plan. Without this disposable diaper, the nest would quickly become unsuitable for life. So the next time you find an abandoned robin's nest, take a peek inside. The only reason it's so clean is because God provided the robin with a disposable diaper service!
