May 1-3 was Labor Day holiday, so my friend and I explored more of Xiamen by a double-decker bus.
First stop we got off was to walk on the beach for a while. So soothing.
Then the next stop, we walked the streets of an old fishing town. So many restaurants and small shops line the streets with different foods, drinks, souvenirs, and miscellaneous items. This is a spinning magnet of Xiamen. So creative.
This shop offers the full experience for people wanting to wear the traditional clothes.
This tea shop sells different kinds of refreshing flower teas, and I sampled all. 😄
The shop owner is a fellow Trump-lover. 😂
After eating lunch in a shop on that street, we walked on another part of the beach, and it was so crowded with tourists from other parts of China. No one was swimming though; most were standing or sitting on the sand staring at the water.
You can see so many sights like this: men holding things and umbrellas for women.
After finishing the beach walk, the bus dropped us off at the walking pedestrian street, Zhong Shan Lu. It was also extremely crowded. Some music groups were performing......
people were blowing bubbles, and clowns on stilts were walking around.
We took a break to eat this special food, Si Guo Tang.

Later, we rode on the bus at night to see the traffic and multitudes of people. (Just kidding.😄) Original intent was to see the city lights, but they were nothing special. Xiamen was PACKED full of travelers. Later when I waited to board the subway, I didn't even have to walk. People pushed me right on. 😂😂
May 2, the same friend and I took a taxi to the starting point of the Forest-to-Sea Trail and walked all day, enjoying God's nature.
First, we spent time at this beautiful flower garden.
This is a little stand where you can get a cold treat by yourself.
Walked a road less traveled to see different views, more trees, and the unique butterfly.
That thing sticking above the trees is where we were at one point.
I could live by the sea with these astonishing views of the landscape and skies.
This is some kind of resort or hotel.
Sunset. The singular picture from May 3rd😅because I took that day to rest.
