Award

Sarah, from Trusting in the Lord day by day gave me a blogger award. She actually awarded me 2 awards:

    I have to answer the questions she asked, so here I go.
Sarah's questions are in bold, my answers are in regular print.

1. Do you ever run out to get the mail?
Yes, I love running out to get the mail.
2. Do you like cold or warm?
I like the cold best.
3. Do you like playing around doing different dos with your hair, or are you the kind of person to keep it the same?
I like to keep it the same way. Once in a while I will try a different hairstyle.
4. Have you ever wondered how many times you have said the same word in your life?  I don't think I have.
5. Do you write?
Yes!! I love writing so much!
6. What is your favorite thing to cook?
Um, well, I like cooking spaghetti, but I like making desserts, too.
7. If you were snow bound all winter, what would you do for activities/keeping warm? I would write a book, blog,  and play games with my family. I would have a big fireplace to keep us warm.
8. Are you a changing person, or a person who like things to stay the same?
I like things to stay the same, most of the time.
9. Do you like drawing your own drawings, or would you rather use a coloring page? I like drawing faces, but I'm not the best artist,  so I guess I would do better using a coloring page.

Thank you, Sarah, for awarding me! I am going to award some people the two blogging awards shown above, and the questions for both of them are:
1. What is your favorite place to shop?
2. What's your favorite thing to eat?
3. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
4. Do you like writing letters or emailing best?
5. Do you have a favorite game? If so, what is it?
6. What's your favorite activity to do with your family?
7. Are you musical? If so, what instrument(s) do you play?
8. What was the last thing you memorized?
9. What's your favorite book of the Bible and why?
10. What do you want to be when you grow up?
11. What are some of your hobbies?
12. Do you like doing different hairdos on your hair?

 This afternoon, our church had a picnic at Jonathan Dickinson State Park. It was a very breezy afternoon; not too hot, not too cold. :) Anyway, a few people went on a walk on the trails. I saw many varieties of flowers, and I tried to take a picture of all of them.
And then there was this pretty river. It was a very nice walk, and everyone had a lovely time at the picnic. At 3:00, everyone joined their voices together and we all sang some songs, and then our pastor preached a short message.

Here's the saying of the week: (Just a note: I think this is an awesomely cool saying. :)

And here's the Bible verse of the week: Romans 8:32-34
"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how show he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth: Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercessions for us."

                    Song of the week: O To Be Like Thee. (This is the third verse of the song.)
                                                      O to be like Thee! lowly in spirit,
                                                 Holy and harmless, patient and brave;
                                                   Meekly enduring cruel reproaches,
                                                      Willing to suffer, others to save.

                                                     O to be like Thee! O to be like Thee!
                                                    Blessed Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
                                           Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
                                             Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart.

Well, farewell for now!!
Walk with the King this week! :)

Love,
Ashley

  4. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, Ashley! I will try to fit at least some of the questions into--most likely--a photo post. Great quote from GodFruits, and I really enjoyed your flower photos! Outdoor flowers in January are basically an impossibility here in Iowa, so I'm glad you shared the flowers from your area with us. I'm with you on keeping my hairstyle the same most of the time.

    1. That's okay if you can't answer all of the questions, Bethany. I liked awarding people. :)
      I love taking pictures of flowers and sharing them with everybody!!
      What hairstyle do you keep your hair in regularly? I usually keep my hair down.

    2. I always have my hair brushed to the side and part of it fastened with a barrett in back like in profile picture. That is the way I fix my hair every day--and my primary style. After I accomplish this first style, if I don't want my hair down and loose, I may add a secondary touch of braiding it, or a third of also putting my braid up with hair sticks.

      Thanks for alerting me to your question! :)

  6. Hi...
    I just visited with Bethany Carlson and saw your comment above mine...just wanted to stop by and say hello.

    That saying with the Grand Canyon image is just awesome. I've not heard it before but I am gonna relay this to my daughter...I know she will appreciate it as much as I do.

    And, your wild flowers are spectacular.
