Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne

"Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne"
Thou didst leave Thy throne and Thy kingly crown, when Thou camest to earth for me;
But in Bethlehem's home was there found no room for Thy holy nativity.
O come to my heart, Lord Jesus, there is room in my heart for Thee.

Heaven's arches rang when the angels sang proclaiming Thy royal degree;
But of lowly birth didst Thou come to earth, and in great humility.
O come to my heart, Lord Jesus, there is room in my heart for Thee.

The foxes found rest, and the birds their nest in the shade of the forest tree;
But Thy couch was the sod, o thou Son of God, in the deserts of Galilee.
O come to my heart, Lord Jesus, there is room in my heart for Thee.

Thou camest, O Lord, with the living Word that should set Thy people free;
But with mocking scron, and with crown of thorn, they bore Thee to Calvary.
O come to my heart, Lord Jesus, there is room in my heart for Thee.

When the heavens shall ring, and the angels sing, at thy coming to victory,
Let Thy voice call me home, saying, "Yet there is room, there is room at My side for thee."
My heart shall rejoice, Lord Jesus, when Thou comest and callest for me.
Philippians 2:5-7
 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed New Year!
Yours always in Christ,

    1. Praise the Lord.
      We might go over to someone's house or just stay home. Sarah and I are planning on staying up till midnight this year; we did that two years ago, I think.
      What do you do?

  2. Beautiful song! I thought I had never heard it before, but we actually sang it in church last week for the first time I remember. You also made a great scripture choice.
    Happy New Year! :)

  3. When I pay attention to the words in so any hymns, including Christmas carols, I realize many of them give the entire gospel for any and all to hear and understand. I am thankful for this when I watch secular Christmas specials on t.v. and see famous singers not known for their faith proclaiming the truth of the gospel even if they themselves don't believe it. They sing the carols because it is traditional, yet God's word does not go out in vain. Someone is hearing he words of God and their heart is being changed.

    Happy and blessed new year to you and yours !
