September Memories

September: a fun month filled with lots of happy memories and events. Therefore, this post contains many but not all of the pictures captured that remind me of these precious times.

 Zhongshan Park
View of the ocean. On the other side is Gulangyu island where missionaries established churches in the 19th century. It's still known for its many Christian-heritage sites. One day I'll visit. :)

There are so many palm trees here. Sometimes the view reminds me of Florida. :)
Random cat (These pictures were actually from August, but I forgot to include them.)
Enjoyed a fun time with my friend as we drank coffee at this cafe late one night. lol.
At this other coffee shop I met this adorable dog Pupu.
It has lots of cute, photogenic things inside.
I met some girls and we practiced each other's language. :)
Many of the dogs here wear shoes. haha. And some of them walk without leashes, obediently following behind their owner.

At school we germinated bean seeds. They're growing well.
The hig- speed bus called BRT runs on top of the city. It's fast because it doesn't encounter traffic lights or traffic.
It stops at every station and you simply get off at the desired location.
One evening I visited a sister to have a meal with her and her daughter.
Then we walked to the beach.
You can see Taiwan from here.
The bean sprouts continue to grow and fascinate the children. 😃

Sometimes on Tuesdays we go on outings.
Kids can play with different colored trashcans that help them learn in which can to put which trash.
When we finally planted the sprouts, they were so intrigued. 😄
In one class we learned about fossils and paleontologists and the kids loved digging in the sand for "fossil eggs."
To add to our habitat, we now have an ant farm. The ants survive by eating the blue jelly. By now (in Nov.) they seem to be almost dead.
One evening I ate with a coworker at a popular restaurant. Many places, even coffee shops, have second stories with more sitting room.
Sep. 10th, we celebrated teacher day. These are the gifts people blessed me with.
Random plants outside a shop
Sunsets continuously amaze me.
A gaming station
A car that reminds me of mototaxis in Honduras.
Since we're near the ocean, one evening friends cooked a great seafood meal.
Gān Bēi (cheers) 😃
At school, we also got 3 pet turtles.

On the 16th we took a field trip to the park.
In China, you'll see a lot of grandparents taking care
of their grandchildren. They even drop off and pick up at school.

Every field trip the school guard goes with us and holds a flag.
The school also has a pet rabbit now. Honey Bunny is adorable, and the kids love it. :)
A picture in the subway. It's super cheap and convenient to travel this way.
I can't believe I get to live here!
I enjoy attending the international church.
The attendees are from 34 different countries, yet we all gather together to worship the same God that unites us through the cross. Reminds me of heaven. :)
A random snail.
One of my students invited me to his house for dinner.
Amazing food
Crabs, though, aren't really my favorite. (After watching someone de-skin a live toad I especially can't eat insides of lobster and crab.)
Coffee
We celebrated the Mid-Autumn festival and had a few days off.
They set up prizes of different price amounts, then roll dices in a red bowl. The amount on the dice dictates which prize you win. Everyone won lots of tissues. 😅This is the easiest prize to win.
What I did during a break one day. 😂
Views during a walk
You can see these kind of vending machines in many places.
I met a friend for lunch at a Thai restaurant (pictures below) and on the way I saw this fantastic drone.
Food at another restaurant with a friend.
This wall intrigued me.
"High power, democracy, civilization, harmony, freed, equality, justice, rule of law, patriotism, dedication, integrity, kindness."

The End. :)
Thankful that I get to call this place home and thankful for my God who walks through life with me. 💜
