Paid in Full (By the Blood of the Lamb)

Greetings in the name of the Lord!
Here's a really neat song that I've been listening to a lot for the past few days. It's called Paid in Full (By the Blood of the Lamb)  Hope you enjoy it.

Give a thumbs up in the comment box if you enjoyed it.

Hope you had a sweet Lord's day.
Love,
Ashley

Bible verses of the week: I looked for some Bible verses to go along with the song, and I think these are a perfect match. These verses also bring to memory another song "Jesus Paid It All". Maybe I'll post that one next week.  ;)

Ephesians 1:7 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"
                                    And.............

Colossians 1:20 "And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven."

Talenti Gelato~ 4th Review

Talenti Gelato Ice Cream Review

Talenti Gelato
                     Website ~ Facebook
Here's the difference between gelato and ice cream. (From their website.)
Gelato contains less air (also known as overrun) than ice cream, making the flavors much more intense. (Lucky you!) Gelato also has a higher percentage of solids (chocolate/caramel/pure cane sugar), giving it a smooth, velvety texture. It also has less fat than ice cream (since there’s less cream and more milk).

Recently I did a review for Talenti Gelato. I gave Sarah a coupon so she could do a review too. :) Our reviews on the flavors are below.

Sarah's review:
Hi ya'll. This is Sarah, Ashley's sister. Today we are both doing reviews on Talenti gelato. I reviewed the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie flavor.
My first bite consisted of creamy gelato, which I don't think I can describe for a lack of words, with oats in it. As I continued eating, I even ate a raisin with some caramel and maybe even a hint of cookie. Who would think oats and raisins would be in gelato? I sure didn't. ;) Here are the ingredients: milk· sugar· cream· dextrose· molasses· raisins· rolled oats· wheat flour· eggs· vanilla· salt· carob gum· corn starch· baking powder· natural flavors· baking soda· cinnamon· spice· xanthan gum
I would rate this a 4 on how well it tasted, the quality, and how well it matches the name of the gelato.

Ashley's review:
I had 2 flavors: Tahitian Vanilla Bean and Double Dark Chocolate.
As always, the vanilla was super delicious. I L.O.V.E vanilla ice cream, but the gelato was even better. It was soft, very creamy, and melted fast, may I add.
The Double Dark Chocolate was very good. I loved the chocolate chips that were in every bite. If you are a huge chocolate lover, you'll love this gelato because of the extra chocolate that was added in it. Another plus to both of these flavors of gelato is that they are all natural and healthy which makes me feel better while eating it!  Sarah and I compared the gelato to our supermarket's brand of ice cream, which we used to think was good, and we could definitely tell a difference. The gelato was so much better tasting!! Here are the ingredients.
Vanilla-  milk· sugar· cream· dextrose· vanilla· lemon· carob gum
Double Dark Chocolate- milk· sugar· chocolate· cream· eggs· dextrose· dutched cocoa· vermouth· carob gum· soy lecithin· vanilla
I definitely recommend both of these flavors. I rate both of them with 5 gold stars.

*Special thanks to Talenti company for allowing me to do this review. Keep up the good work.*

I hope you enjoyed this review. If this ice cream is available in your area, I would definitely recommend trying it.
Be sure to leave a comment and tell me if you have tried any of these flavors, or you plan on trying them soon. :)

Hope everyone is doing well.
Have a God-filled week.
Love,
Ashley

Carbon Dating Supports Noah's Flood

Today's Creation Moment suggest by Sister in the Mid-West (she wanted Science articles)
                                                     Carbon Dating Supports Noah's Flood

Genesis 8:2   "The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained."

Did you know that radiocarbon dating may offer supporting evidence for Noah's Flood? Many think that carbon dating provides evidence that the Earth is millions of years old, but this is not true. Radiocarbon dating can only reliably date things that are less than 3,000 years old.
Venetian mosaic depiction of Noah sending out the doveLet's say that you are a frog in a pond. High above your head, cosmic rays are striking nitrogen-14 atoms and changing them into radioactive carbon-14 atoms. That carbon eventually finds its way into your food and becomes part of you. Throughout your life it continues to accumulate in you. When you die, it stops accumulating. Being unstable, carbon-14 decays over time. Researchers measure the carbon-14 that remains in something that was once alive to determine how old it is. To do so, however, they must assume that the Earth is over 50,000 years old. That's how long it would take for the amount of carbon-14 being produced to equal the rate of carbon-14 decay. But we now know that there is more carbon-14 being produced than is decaying, meaning that the Earth must be less than 30,000 years old! In addition, the processes at work during Noah's Flood would have lowered the availability of carbon-14 to living things, which would also help account for the shortage of carbon-14.
In short, carbon dating cannot possibly tell us anything contrary to the Bible, and it seems to support the Bible's account of Earth's history.

Bird Brained

Today's Creation Moment, requested by Eve: Bird Brained

Ecclesiastes 10:20  “Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.”
Mankind has been teaching birds to talk for thousands of years. Man has also been using birds to deliver messages for just as long. But new research on the intelligence of birds suggests that they might be more intelligent than we suspect.

Feral pigeon (rock dove) in flightResearchers studying pigeons have learned that they can read all of the letters of the alphabet and they read them in a way similar to people. Scientists became convinced that pigeons see the world in much the same way as we do when they discovered that pigeons tend to confuse the very same letters that people do. What’s more, it took only four months for pigeons to learn to distinguish all the letters of the alphabet. For years, pigeons have been used to spot and reject defective items on assembly lines, where they have better records than human beings.

Based on evolutionary theory, scientists naturally conclude that the recognition of abstract forms such as letters of the alphabet requires the larger brain. But this is an assumption, and we might be reminded of the work of Harvard psychologist B.F. Skinner who made extensive use of learned behavior using pigeons. Brain size has little to do with intelligence. Real science and experience show this and disprove evolutionary views. The only alternative is that it is the Creator who gives His creatures their intelligence.

Penguins with Sunglasses

Today's Creation Moment: Penguins with Sunglasses

Hebrews 1:3  "Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;"

Have you ever gone outside on a bright, sunny day and been almost blinded by the light? Then imagine what it must be like for penguins to go about their lives with the intense glare of polar sunlight reflecting off a snowy or watery landscape.
sunglassesPenguins, of course, can't slip on a pair of sunglasses, but they don't need to. These marvelous birds have an external eye fluid that filters out blue and ultraviolet wavelengths from the solar spectrum. This gives them clear vision while protecting their eyes from harm. As you might have guessed, eagles, falcons, hawks and other birds of prey also have this fluid.
Inspired by these birds, scientists have been able to develop an orange-colored dye and filter that duplicates the penguin's retinal fluid. The orange dye has been used to produce orange-tinted sunglasses which provide improved vision in bright sunlight and on foggy days.
According to Donald DeYoung's book Discovery of Design, many welders now use orange-colored masks that are safer and more transparent than the old-style dark masks that made it difficult for them to see. There is also the hope that orange-tinted glasses may someday help patients suffering from visual loss due to cataracts or macular degeneration.
When engineers and designers look at nature to design new products and product improvements, they are looking at intelligent designs, not the products of chance and billions of years. The "sunglasses" worn by penguins were designed by their Creator!
Walk with the King today, my friends.

Your Multipurpose Eye

Today's Creation Moment: Your Multipurpose Eye

Psalm 94:9  "He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?"

Scientists have learned that the eye is a multipurpose organ. They have long tried to figure out how our internal biological clock is set. This amazing clock is located in the brain and follows a period of almost exactly a day. It controls many of the body's rhythms, so it's important that it is properly set.
Nerve cells containing melanopsin are shown in blue in the spread-out retinaScientists do know that the clock is set by light. They also know that your clock is not set by the rods and cones in your eye that see color and images. They had conclusively shown that the eye's rods and cones have nothing to do with setting the clock. Several years ago, researchers bred mice whose eyes lacked rods and cones. As they shifted light periods, the mice still adjusted their biological clocks to the new periods. Now researchers are convinced they have found how our eyes adjust our biological clock after studying, of all things, the African horned frog. While studying the frog, scientists discovered a photoreceptor called melanopsin. This photoreceptor is found in the skin, eyes and brain of the frogs. They then decided to test for melanopsin in our eyes. They discovered that a form of the photoreceptor is produced in the inner retina of our eyes. The rods and cones of our eyes are located on the outer retina. The human eye, and those of mammals, is a multi purpose organ!
The intricate and precise ways in which we have been made increasingly glorify our Creator as we learn more about how we have been made. Surely it takes more faith to believe that such an elegant system as our biological clocks evolved by chance.
Hope you enjoyed this creation moment. Please leave a comment with what you would like creation moments to talk about. Ex. animals, weather, water, etc.
Have a lovely God-filled week!
In the Saviour's love,
Ashley

The Cruel God of Evolution

Today's Creation Moment:  The Cruel God of Evolution
1 Corinthians 15:22  "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."

Some people think that they can believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and at the same time believe God created through evolution. These people are called theistic evolutionists or progressive creationists. What kind of nature would a god have who creates through the death that is essential to evolution?
The human skull has long been a symbol of deathFirst, death would have to have begun from the very moment of creation. Death, disease, pain and suffering would have had to originate with this god. Long before man, according to evolution, dinosaurs were eating other dinosaurs, and entire species were dying out. Rather than loving us, such a god would be indifferent and capricious. The god that would use evolution to make living things would have no right to punish sin. He would have had no right to bring a worldwide Flood to punish sinful man. This kind of god would be nothing more than a bully. Such a god would not be likely to have given us his word. And nothing the Bible says about him could be true. If the Bible really is from him, it is full of untrue claims. Any god who created using evolution is not the God of the Bible. If you think about it, the god of evolution sounds surprisingly like the devil.
What's wrong with believing that God created through evolution over millions of years? Any god that uses evolution and death to make us is extremely cruel. More importantly, if there was no first Adam to bring sin and death into the world, there was no need for Christ, Whom the Bible calls the last Adam, to die and save us from sin and death.
Love,
Ashley

"Superb" "Splendid" and "Lovely"

Creation Moment of the day: "Superb" "Splendid" and "Lovely"

Psalm 50:11   "I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine."

There are 13 species of a brightly plumed little songbird known as the fairy wren. The birds are found in Australia and New Guinea. So colorful are their feathers that the various species go by names like "superb," "splendid" and "lovely." However, even more noteworthy is the birds' unusual behavior.
Superb blue fairy-wrenA male courting a female will bring her a flower petal. The petal usually matches his color or is a deeply contrasting color. Normally a perky little bird with an upright tail, when courting he lowers his tail and creeps around close to the ground. As he twists his body back and forth, he puffs out his cheek feathers. If the female accepts his courting, she builds their nest alone, lining it with bright parrot feathers. While they mate for life, they are not known for fidelity to their mates. When mature, females will go off on their own, but males may stay with their parents for a year or more. Their main duty is to guard the family nest. If danger approaches the nest, the guard will puff up his wings, lower his tail and scuttle through dry grass, pretending to be a mouse. The idea is to lure the predator away from the nest.
The beauty and unusual behavior of these little birds testifies to more than God's creativity and love for beauty. They remind us of the beauty that was lost to God's creation when it was tainted by man's sin. Thankfully, some of that beauty that was lost can return to our lives through the forgiveness of sins that is found in Jesus Christ.

Three Twins Ice Cream~3rd review

Hello friends!
A while ago I reviewed Three Twins Ice Cream, but never got around to posting the review. So here it is.

About (from website): Our ice cream incorporates fresh, organic ingredients. We start with a simple base of milk, cream, sugar and eggs, sweeten it with evaporated cane juice and stir in other delicious ingredients for a tasty finish. What we don’t put in is just as important as what we do put in. Our ice cream does not include the artificial coloring, flavors and stabilizers common in conventional and some organic brands. No corn syrup or seaweed derivatives here! To learn more, click HERE
For this review, I received 5 coupons which I redeemed for the following flavors:
Vanilla Bean
Caramel Truffle Swirl
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup

Banana Nut Confetti
Chocolate Malt

My fabulous sister Lauren did the review with me, so I'm going to be sharing her thoughts as well as mine. :)

Vanilla Bean-
Lauren's thoughts: I think it was very creamy, rich, and one of the best vanillas I've tasted in my  life.
Ashley's thoughts: I thought it was super creamy, sweet, and delicious. Of course I would think that since I'm a huge vanilla fan, but anyway...
 Caramel Truffle Swirl-
Lauren's thoughts:  I really liked it and I could eat the whole container in one setting.
Ashley's thoughts: There were pieces of truffle and caramel chunks swirled in the ice cream, which was a blend of caramel and chocolate-so sweet!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup-
Lauren's thoughts: I loved the texture, and the peanut butter was rich.
Ashley's thoughts:  The peanut butter cups were really peanut buttery, but at the same time, really chocolaty- like the chocolate malt ice cream. The ice cream itself didn't have an overpowering taste of peanut butter. It was delicious!
Banana Nut Confetti-
Lauren's thoughts: I didn't like the banana pieces throughout the ice cream, or the nuts.
Ashley's thoughts: This ice cream tasted just like banana bread. I liked the banana pieces that were in the ice cream.
My sister Sarah enjoyed it though. It all depends on your taste.
Chocolate Malt-
Lauren's thoughts: It is very yummy, chocolatey and rich. You should definitely try it.
Ashley's thoughts: This ice cream was so good! It's purely organic; like Lauren said, it is very rich and sweet. This was my 2nd favorite next to the vanilla.

Ratings:
Vanilla Bean
Lauren: - 4 stars
Ashley: 5 stars

Carmel Truffle Swirl
Lauren: 5 stars
Ashley: 4 stars

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
Lauren: 5 stars
Ashley: 5 stars

Banana Nut Confetti
Lauren: 1 star
Ashley: 2 stars

Chocolate Malt
Lauren: 5 stars
Ashley: 5 stars

Overall: I highly recommend Three Twins ice cream. They're 100% organic and their ice cream is simply delectable. I would recommend all of the ice creams we reviewed to everyone, except for the Banana Nut Confetti. If you don't like banana bread, this wouldn't be your kind of ice cream. But if you do, then you'll love it! :)

I want to give a huge thank you to Three Twins for making this review possible.

Thanks for reading!

Earthworm or Draining Bathtub?

Today's Creation Moment: Earthworm or Draining Bathtub?

Psalm 22:6   "But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people."

What creature lives deep underground, has a dark purple head and a blue-grey body, can grow up to nine feet in length and sounds like a bathtub draining of water? It's the Giant Gippsland earthworm of Australia, of course!
Longest earthwormAs these incredible creatures make their way through the soil, they shorten in length and then stretch their body to as long as fourteen feet. Despite their size, it is very difficult to study these giant earthworms because they never come to the surface unless flushed out by heavy rains. They prefer to spend their lives deep underground where they won't be cut to pieces by farmers tilling the ground.
"Burrows that are occupied by giant Gippsland earthworms have very wet walls," said Beverley D. Van Praagh, a biologist who has studied the creatures for over 20 years. "When the earthworms move quickly within their burrows, it makes a gurgling sound that is quite loud and can be heard above ground. The sound is a bit like water draining out of a bath and has been known to terrify the uninitiated."
Though most of us look at such creatures with disgust, nothing that God has made is without purpose. Earthworms perform a very valuable service in making the soil fertile. Life on earth would not exist without the lowly earthworm! Eternal life, too, wouldn't exist were it not for Jesus, who is called a worm and was despised by the people He came to save.
