The Treasure of God

Happy Sunday, friend! 

This morning I was reading Psalm 119 and verse 2 stayed in my mind. "Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart."  This is my goal - to seek God with my WHOLE heart. And it's my passion that other believers do the same. How I wish that more would seek him! What we need is more of God. Not another devotional plan, not another study book, but a true heart passion and fire and yearning to know God more. It's very sad when someone turns to devotionals instead of the word. Devotionals are a great tool, but I believe they can supplement the Word - not take the place of it. No matter the past trauma or problems, God is the answer to fixing it. To fill the longings or desires of your heart, God can do this. When you are completely satisfied with God and have a deepening sweet relationship with him, your desires can start lining up with his because you'll truly want his will in your life.

Then this morning at church, we sang "You Are My All in All" and some lyrics particularly touched my heart. 

You are the treasure that I seek...seeking you as a precious jewel, Lord, to give up I'd be a fool. 

I think the church desperately needs revival because we don't seek God as a precious jewel. How does one look for a jewel? Well a jewel is valuable. Jewel seekers look diligently and persistently until they find what they're after. We need to go after God like this too - with focus, persistence, and determination. It needs to be a whole-hearted pursuit because he is worth every effort. To give up would be foolish. Jewel seekers don't give up. And our God is way more valuable than jewels. 

So friend, determine to go after God with ALL your heart. Jesus is what you need. Don't give up. 

You are my strength when I am weak, you are the treasure that I seek. You are my all in all. Seeking you as a precious jewel, Lord. To give up I'd be a fool. You are my all in all. 

Taking my sin, my cross, my shame, rising up again - I bless your name. You are my all in all. When I fall down you pick me up. When I am dry you fill my cup. You are my all in all. 

Jesus, Lamb of God, worthy is your name.
