I'm Thankful For...The Air Show ~~~ Day 5

I'm thankful for...the air show.

Our neighbor gave us some tickets to the air show, so this afternoon Daddy,
Deborah, and I attended the air show.

Missionary Flights International had one of their planes present...they save
lives and bring the good news of the gospel to hurting people. After hurricane
Matthew hit Haiti and the Bahamas, they delivered supplies and food to the
devastated countries.

This is a B-25 bomber plane. You can see the guns sticking out the of
front where one of the gunners could control them.
The open flaps on the bottom of the plane are where bombs would drop out.

It was a very enjoyable afternoon, and I'm thankful we had the opportunity to go. :)

Have you been to an air show before?

I'm Thankful For...A Tea Cup Exchange ~~~Day 4

I'm thankful for....a tea cup exchange

Stephanie from The Enchanting Rose hosted her annual
tea cup and mug exchange during September. It is such
a sweet time to make two new friends through the gift
of a tea cup or mug. I had the pleasure of sending a tea
cup to a young lady named Abigail, who does not have a
blog.  Mary Jo sent me a beautiful tea cup in such a lovely
box. Here are some photographs.
Mary Jo included a box of Sugar and Plum Spice tea, a
cute little picture frame, a darling tea cup made in the
U.S.A., and a book, "Afternoon Tea : The Art & Pleasures
of Taking Tea," in this pretty box.
Look at this delicately lovely tea cup.

Thank you, Stephanie, for putting on such a
wonderful exchange. I had a delightful time
participating, and I hope some of you readers
will join the exchange next time. :)

Recently, I had the opportunity to review
Tea Shop Folly by Carrie Fancett Pagels
Almost destitute, Lilly has run out of hope when she inherits
her great-aunt's home--but it's not the Tea Shop that a handsome
young gentleman thinks it is. Lilly's inherited house is crammed
full of tea cups. Theo, a Soo Locks engineer, visits frequently in
the hopes he will find the perfect antique teacup for his mother and
is charmed by the lovely 'Shoppe owner.' Lilly can't turn the bachelor
away when he persistently peruses her aunt's collection, which she's
trying to pack up and remove from the house. Is the man only interested
in the teacups, or in her? When Theo begins referring people to Lilly, and the
genuine Tea Shoppe owner sets the police on Lilly for her lack of a business license,
sparks fly!

This novella is only 95 pages long, but it's a sweet little story with a little bit of
excitement, mystery, tender fondness, and a captivating theme. It's perfect
to read while you have a cup of coffee (or tea if you prefer that instead.) :)

Carrie was so kind to send me a copy to review.
Thank you, Carrie! :D I really enjoyed it.

This book is available on Amazon here.

I hope you all have a very lovely weekend!

I'm Thankful For...Pumpkin Plants ~~~Day 3

Today, I'm thankful for the two pumpkin plants in the garden.

They're growing like weeds, and I can't wait till they produce pumpkins! :D

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the
fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth:
and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his
kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God
saw that it was good.
~ Genesis 1:11-12 ~

What are you thankful for today?

I'm Thankful For...A Field Trip ~~~~ Day 2

I'm Thankful For...the field trip to Kennedy Space Center.
Yesterday, we girls went on a field trip to the Kennedy Space Center
with our homeschool group. Unfortunately, my dear mommy wasn't able to
go, as she is sick with a horrible cough. If you think of her, please
pray she'll get over it soon.   A few things have changed  since
we last visited in either 2011, 2012, or 2013.  The Lord provided such a
beautiful day for us to enjoy. Enjoy a look at our day through these pictures.  :)

Rockets in the rocket garden.

This is the real Atlantis space shuttle, featured in the Atlantis Museum.
Late in the afternoon, we had the opportunity to meet Apollo 15
Astronaut Al Worden. He was the Command Module Pilot for the
Apollo 15 lunar mission in 1971. He is one of  24 people to have flown to the Moon.
Al Worden was the first one to perform a deep space walk.

When designing their logo, Scott, Worden, and Irwin were told their
logo couldn't have any roman numerals on it-only numbers. Well, they
sneaked a couple roman numerals on there anyway. Do you spot the
X and V in the picture?

This is the "Astrovan" that carried the Astronauts to the launch pad.
This is what the earth looks like at night from space, illuminated
by electric lights.
And all these green dots on the earth you see, those are airplanes.
 Job 26:7
"He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the
earth upon nothing.

Learning about space and this special planet God has placed us all on reminded me
of his amazing power, and his tender love that he has for mankind. The heavens
truly do declare the glory and awesomeness of our Creator.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

I'm Thankful For...Flowers ~~~~ Day 1

I'm Thankful For...
Flowers and Plants

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God
shall stand for ever.
 ~Isaiah 40:8 ~

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and
yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like
one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the
field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he
clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat,
or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these
things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father
knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the
kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
~ Luke 12:27-30 ~

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.
The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away. But the word
of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel
is preached unto you.
~ 1 Peter 1:24-25 ~
